'There' এর ব্যবহারঃ

সাধারনত তিনটি প্রশ্নের মাধ্যমে অধিকাংশ Adverb চেনা যায়ঃ
1. where(কোথায়?), 2. When?(কখন), 3.how?(কেমন করে /কিভাবে?
এর যেকোন একটি প্রশ্নের উত্তর যে word থেকে পাওয়া যায় তা হলো Adverb.
উদাহরনস্বরূপ বলা যায়, I went there(আমি সেখানে গেলাম) প্রশ্ন করা হল আমি “কোথায় ” গেলাম? উত্তর পাওয়া গেল “সেখানে” বা ~there”. সুতরাং there হল এই বাক্যে একটি adverb. There এর এই ব্যবহারটি খুবই সহজ।
There will be a meeting there( সেখানে এটি সভা হবে।) এখানে প্রথম There টি হল Introductory `there’ এবং পরবর্তী there টি হল adverb `there’ ।
কিছু উদাঃ

আরে! আরে! কি সুন্দর খেলে সে!- There! There! How he plays!

নোমান এই গ্রামে থাকে।- Noman lives in this village.( there হবেনা)

এই বনে বাঘ আছে/ থাকে- There are tigers in this jungle.
.
ঐ যে চোরটি যায়-!- There goes the thief!
.
এই চিঠিতে একটি ভুল ছিল।- There was a mistake in this letter.

ঐ যে গাভিটি আসছে!- There comes the cow!
.
মানুষের মধ্যে কিছু `কুকুর’ আছে।- There are some `dogs’ in the men.

কোন সমস্যা ছিলনা।- There was no problem.
.
সেখানে দশজন লোক ছিল।- There were ten people there.
.
কোন বিপদ হবেনা।– There will be no danger.
.
তোমার লেখায় ভুল থাকবে।–There will be mistake in your writing.

এই বনে বাঘ থাকতে পারে।–There may be tigers in this jungle.
.
দুধটুকুতে জীবানু থাকতে পারত।– There might be germs in the milk.
.
তুমি একাকী কাজটি করলে কেন? কিছু ভুল থেকে যেতে পারত।– Why did you do the work alone? There might have been mistakes( or, something wrong)

এখানে একটি পুকুর থাকা উচিত।– There should be a pond here.

এতে কোন স্বজনপ্রীতি থাকা উচিত ছিলনা।– There should have been no nepotism in it.
.
যন্ত্রটি ঠিকমত চলছেনা; নিশ্চয়ই কোন সমস্যা আছে।– The machine is not running well; there must be some problem.

সেদিন যন্ত্রটি ঠিকমত চলেনি; নিশ্চয়ই কোন সমস্যা ছিল।– That day, the machine did not running well, there must have been some problem.

একটি ভুল আছে বলে মনে হয়।– There seems to be a mistake.

কোন ভুল ছিল বলে মনে হয়।– There seems to be some mistake.
.
তাদের জেতার একটি সম্ভাবনা আছে বলে মনে হয়।- There appears io be a possibility of their winning.

এখানে একটি মসজিদ আছে।– There exists a mosque here.
.
এক দেশে থাকে এক পাগল।– There lives a madman in a country.
.
এক দেশে ছিল এক রাজা।– There lived(=was) a king in a country.
.
আমরা যখন মোহনায় উপনীত হলাম তখন ভয়াবহ ঝড় উঠল।– When we arrived at the estuary, there arose a terrible storm.

There এর ব্যবহার ভালভাবে রপ্ত করতে নিচের নিয়মগুলো অনুসরন করা যেতে পারেঃ

There is/are- আছে, থাকে
There was/were- ছিল
There will be- থাকবে, হবে
There has been- হয়েছে
There have been- হয়েছে
There had been- হয়েছিল
There will have been-হবে/থাকবে/হয়ে যাবে
There is to be- হওয়ার কথা(এটি ভবিষ্যতের ক্ষেত্রেও প্রযোজ্য
There was to be- হওয়ার কথা ছিল (ভবিষ্যতের ক্ষেত্রেও প্রযোজ্য)
There may be- থাকতে পারে, হতে পারে
There might be-হতে, থাকতেও পারে, পারত
There may not be- নাও হতে পারে(ভবিষ্যতের ক্ষেত্রেও প্রযোজ্য)
There might have been- হতেও পারত, থাকতে পারত
There was supposed to be- থাকার / হওয়ার কথা ছিল
There might be- হতেও পারে (ভবিষ্যতের ক্ষেত্রেও প্রযোজ্য)
There is supposed to be- হওয়ার কথা (ভবিষ্যতের ক্ষেত্রেও প্রযোজ্য)
There might not have been- নাও হতে পারত
There may have been- হয়তো হয়েছে, আছে
There could be- থাকতে পারত, ছিল হয়ত
There can be- থাকতে পারে, হতে পারে
There could not be- হতে পারতনা
There can`t be- থাকতে/ হতে পারেনা
There can be no- থাকতে/ হতে পারেনা
There could be no- থাকতে পারতনা
There must be(অনুমান বুঝাতে)- নিশ্চয়ই আছে
There must have been- নিশ্চয়ই ছিল/ হয়ে থাকবে/ ছিল নিশ্চয়ই
There has/ have to be- থাকার/ হওয়ার কথা (ভবিষ্যতের ক্ষেত্রেও প্রযোজ্য)
There had to be-হওয়ার কথা ছিল
There had to be no- হওয়ার কথা ছিলনা
There should be- থাকা উচিত
There should have been- থাকা উচিত ছিল
There seems to be- আছে মনে হয়
There seemed to be- ছিল মনে হয়
There appears to be- আছে মনে হয়
There appeared to be- ছিল মনে হয়
There happens to be- থাকে, ঘটে যায়
There happened to be- ছিল
There exist- আছে, থাকে
There lives- বাস করে, থাকে
There lived- বাস করত, থাকত
There arose- উঠল(ঝড়, ইত্যাদি)
