1. Lay, Lie:
Lay: Lay শব্দের অর্থ কোন কিছু রাখা বা ডিম পাড়া। এটি হলো Transitive verb. অর্থাৎ, এটি অবশ্যই object গ্রহণ করবে।
উদাঃ
Noman will lay his book on the table tonight.
The chicken lays three eggs every day.

Lie: Lie হলো intransitive verb. অর্থাৎ, এটি কোন object গ্রহণ করেনা। এর অর্থ হলো, "আরাম করা", "ভরসা করা", "শুয়ে থাকা"।
উদাঃ
I feel sick. I want to lie on the bed.
He has lain in bed.
এই Lie এর মানে "মিথ্যা" বলাও বুঝায়।

Some people lie about their age.

2. Few(প্রায় নেই বললেই চলে), Little: কিছু নেই বললেই চলে এরুপ বোঝাতে Little বসে এবং Little এর পরবর্তী noun ও verb এর singular number হয়। এবং few পরবর্তী noun & verb এর plural number হয়। যেমনঃ
He has little thirst for knowledge.
Noman is feeling lonely because he has few friends.

Not a few(কম না অর্থে), Not a little (কম না অর্থে): অনেক তবে প্রয়োজনের চেয়ে বেশী অর্থে # uncountable_noun এর পূর্বে not a little এবং # countable_noun এর পূর্বে not a few বসে। যেমনঃ
Noman received not a little help from her.
Not a few men were present there.

Very little/very few: খুব কম অর্থে uncountable noun এর পূর্বে # very_little এবং countable noun এর পূর্বে # very_few বসে। যেমনঃ
Noman gave her very little information
I have very few friends.

A few, A little (কিছুু অর্থে) : সামান্য কিছু পরিমাণ বোঝাতে #uncountable_noun এর পূর্বে a little বসে এবং a little এর পরবর্তী verb টি singular হয়।
অল্প কিছু সংখ্যক বা কয়েকটি বোঝাতে #countable_noun এর পূর্বে a few বসে ও a few এর পরবর্তী noun ও verb টি plural হয়।
যেমনঃ
Give me a little butter, please.
There are a few tickets left for the concert.

The little/the few (নির্দিষ্ট কিছু অর্থে): পরিমাণে বা সংখ্যায় কম হলেও সকলকে বোঝাতে the little / the few ব্যববহার করা হয়। যেমনঃ
I read the few books which he had.
I shall give you the little milk.

Only a few, only a little: Only a few ব্যববহৃত হয় count noun এর পূর্বে এবং only a little ব্যবহৃত হয় noncount noun এর পূর্বে।
Few, little এর পূর্বে only থাকে এদের মাঝখানে a বসবে।
Only a few dollars have been budgeted for supplies.
We have only a little homework for today.

3. A many, a good many, a great many : এদের পর noun/verb এর plural হয়।
